IRON MAIDEN, YNGWIE MALMSTEEN Vocalists To Appear On SACK TRICK CD

IRON MAIDEN singer Bruce Dickinson and former RAINBOW/current YNGWIE MALMSTEEN frontman Doogie White are among the guests appearing on the upcoming album from Britain's SACK TRICK album, entitled Sheep in KISS Makeup, which is tentatively due for release in September/October. Other musicians set to appear on the effort—which is set to contain nothing but KISS covers—include bassist Greg Smith (RAINBOW, ALICE COOPER),and members of SKUNK ANANSIE, RACHEL STAMP and TERRORVISION.

"As usual when you do work with SACK TRICK, weird and wonderful things go on," White commented about the most recent recording experience with the group. "They wanted me to sing The Elder in full voice as Paul Stanley regrets having sung it in falsetto. When we went to the kitchen to replenish the beer glasses there were 3 or 4 people standing outside just staring in the window. We realized that the window was open and I had been interrupting the peace and quiet of Strand on the Green as parents came to pick up their kids from school."

As previously reported, SACK TRICK members Al Dickson (guitar),Chris Dale (bass),and Robin Guy (drums) will be part of Dickinson's backing band for the singer's upcoming European summer festival appearances, which will include gigs at Wacken Open Air, Sweden Rock and Bang Your Head festivals. Both Dickson and Dale had previously played with Dickinson in his ill-fated SKUNKWORKS project.

In related news, residents of Spain and France can hear the voice of Doogie White in the new Amstel Beer commercial where he sings QUEEN's "Friends Will Be Friends". In addition, the singer is also currently collaborating with guitarist Bill Liesegang in a new project called VISUAL SURVEILLANCE OF EXTREMITIES, or VSE, which is currently recording its debut album. Among the cuts set to appear on the CD are: "The Ballad of Bible John", "The Gathering", and "Revolution Child".

"We have 10 strong songs and 2 amazing instrumentals," White commented on the progress of the album's recording sessions. "We are talking with some record companies and interest is good at this early stage. I decided that, after the events of February 2001, that I would do more studio work with people that I liked and could work with. This new 'project' in no way affects my work with Steen and CORNERSTONE. The way that the business is at the moment leaves me enough time to diversify and do a couple of different albums a year. No one seems to worry that bass players or drummers can do 3-4 albums a year, so I see no reason why I, as a singer, should not afford myself the same luxury. It's not as if I am touring for 5 months a year, so writing and singing is what I do."

As for Doogie's long-awaited solo album, "the producer I was working with, Jack Guy, is very busy and I really want to spend another 14 days finishing it off, but our schedules keep clashing," the singer stated. "I have another 2 songs that I would like to include. It may see the light of day next year."
